What happens if my business doesn’t have Workers' Compensation Insurance?

If your business does not have workers' compensation insurance, you may be fully liable in the event of an accident in your workplace. This would include covering all medical costs as well as salary replacement while the employee is recovering. You may also be vulnerable to a lawsuit if it is found that negligence in the workplace was a causing factor of the injury, in which you would also need to cover the full legal costs.
