If the sub-contractors already have liability insurance, do I need to take out a Contractors' All Risk policy?

You should check with the sub-contractor to determine what their policy covers.

Their limits of liability may not only be lower than what you would or should normally have, but they may also be restricted to cover them alone, excluding all other parties. In order to ensure that there are no gaps in coverage, and that your business (as contractor) or property (as property owner) is fully protected, it is important to have your own liability insurance.
