Marchmont Insurance Company Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of BF&M Limited, is a rent-a-captive facility incorporated in 1977. The Company became a segregated account Company in 1995 by Act of Parliament, enabling participating program assets to be place in their own segregated account, effectively fire-walling them from potential adverse development on other client programs.
Rent-a-captive programs are an acknowledged alternative risk management solution. They offer great flexibility and can be implemented quickly and easily without the capital outlay, set-up costs and ongoing administrative expenses associated with establishing an individual captive insurance company. There are several program structures which can be used allowing the participant’s underwriting and investment results to inure to the participant.
