Michael D. Lima
General Manager, Bermuda International Insurance Services Limited
Michael is Bermudian and returned to the island in 1995 from Canada, where he grew up in Ontario. He is an English major graduate, specializing in Business administration, from the University of Waterloo.
Michael has been involved in the insurance industry for over 25 years and in the international life insurance market for over fourteen years. Shortly after graduating, Michael joined Clarica (formerly the Mutual Group) in Waterloo, Ontario. During that time, Michael worked in management & Agent Development, Human Resources, Product Management, Insurance Sales as well as Quality Service Consulting.
Prior to joining BF&M, Michael played a crucial role in developing Sun Life Assurance Company of Canada’s international offshore program and in 1999 became Vice President & General manager for the Bermuda operation.
In 2005, Michael joined Bermuda International Insurance Services Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of BF&M, as the General Manager.
